One of our favorite events on the farm (besides Cultivate and the Dahlia Festival!) is the Dahlia Camp that we host every other year. We love it because its a time where we can really get to know the people who join us on our farm for a glorious few days of good food, good conversation, and creating beautiful things from dahlias. It is such a fantastic weekend and we’re already starting to think ahead to our future Dahlia Camps.
Today we’d like to talk a little bit about what to expect if you attended a Dahlia Camp. Our aim for the weekend is for it to be educational, creative, and relational. Hopefully you will leave the weekend with lots of new flower friends and lots more knowledge to accomplish what you want with dahlias. We’ve had people attend who had their own flower business and we’ve also had people attend who have never grown a dahlia, but really want to.
Our program days are packed with inspiration and education, and while the pace is intense so we can fully use the time we have together, there are plenty of moments to steal away for personal reflection, quiet, and wandering the flower fields.
We also want to create a space for creativity and wonder. These flowers are gorgeous!! We want you to be able to play with them and enjoy them. We provide specific instruction on using dahlias in multiple small and large applications, including making bouquets, dahlia installations, and our signature Triple Wren dahlia dresses.
We also don’t want you to be hungry! Being outside and being creative can give you an appetite! We have delicious farm-to-table meals the whole weekend that we enjoy together.
