Investing in What is Good

February 8, 2021

The tips of our daffodils are poking from the soil, the Indian plums are unfurling, and the forsythia is a fully formed parade… but our regular February cold snap is upon us… and I remember why this month helps me love winter. It’s usually our best chance of snow and a last hurrah for wool socks by the fireplace early in the morning. It’s the best month for crusty homemade sourdough with fresh butter and Earl Grey in my biggest mug, for homemade soup and good oranges. I’m excited for dahlia blooms {like these beautiful “Lady Liberty”}, but not sorry to invest time in caring well for the roots so we can all enjoy the summer glory.
