Perennial Love

March 5, 2021

We’re pushing hard to finish dividing dahlia tubers by early next week (and we’re sooo close we can taste it!), but in spare moments we’re pruning roses, coppicing willow, cleaning up viburnum, physocarpus, snowberries, lilac, and smokebush, and generally getting our perennials in shape for the season! I love them all and am so delighted with the collection we’ve built over the years. Sometimes, it’s as hard to narrow down and keep what you really love as it is to budget for new additions! Do you tend to gravitate towards showy flowering perennials like these awesome Shastas or lilacs or peonies, etc., or do special foliages, berries, and hips really make your heart sing??
