We have sooo many dahlias already washed and tucked away for the winter (go Team Triple Wren!!), and we’re hitting an amazing time of year here at the farm where it rains all day and is windy beyond belief while we’re working in the fields… but then just before sunset the sun dips underneath the land-locked cloud canopy, shines out over the Pacific Ocean and absolutely drenches the farm in amazing golden light✨✨✨. (Scroll to the end of this post for a quick video of the incredible light!) All the blustery weather stops for a bit, and there is a fabulous lull of breathtaking beauty. Some days I just live for these 15 minutes! It’s such a needed reminder that even in the every. day. rain. of autumns like this (thank you La Niña), the sun IS still shining on the other side of the thick wet cloud cover.
