It’s finally April, and we’re shipping dahlia tuber orders! Here’s what you can expect when you receive your tuber order.
When your box arrives, check to make sure everything arrived safely. We carefully packed all of your tubers into a plastic bag with wood shavings in it to keep your tubers cozy and happy during their journey to your home. (If anything is damaged during shipping, please let us know right away.) When you take them out of the bag, youโll find variety names stamped right on each tuber.
- We recommend planting your tubers immediately after your last frost.
- If you arenโt able to plant your tubers right away due to weather or other circumstances, you can tuck them back into bag with the wood shavings and then back into the box, which will help prevent your tubers from drying out, and should help keep them safe.
- If it will be more than a few days before you can plant, you may want to move them to a dark and humid spot in your home so they don’t dry out before you have a chance to plant them.
- Alternatively, you can pot them up in some soil and wake them up so they’re already growing when it’s time to plant out.
