This week in our Legacy Program hybridizer feature, we’re featuring Wyn’s Dahlias. When we first began growing dahlias, Walt and Cory Wynne were our down-the-street neighbors here in Ferndale, Washington, and their amazing, life-long journey of dahlia hybridization and cultivation has been an inspiration to us from the beginning of our own farming adventures. Walt passed away in a home accident in 2013, and Cory is continuing the legacy and has created such beauty in the past 10 years. We’ve offered Wyn’s Moonlight Sonata, Wyn’s N.E.W. Pastel, and Wyn’s Mauve Mist in past years, and this year you’ll also be able to find Wyn’s Farmer John, Wyn’s Pink Pearl, Wyn’s Feisty Freda, and a gorgeous 2023 introduction, named for the late founder of Wyn’s Dahlias: Wyn’s Farmer Walt.

We feel so honored to work with Cory to move the Wynne’s creations further out into the world. At Triple Wren we grow out hybridizers’ creations on a large scale and market their dahlias to our customers all over the U.S. This allows hybridizers to keep on creating while we do the selling and cultivating, giving them more time to make more beauty to share.
We’re also looking for new hybridizers to add to our program in future years. We want to unlock the treasury of dahlia creations from the past, and pave a path to success for future growers.
