One of my favorite parts about growing the 700-ish named varieties we have at the farm this season is real time comparison of similar flowers. These two beauties are super similar, but on closer inspection you can see the differences! ????
Hollyhill Pinkie (my favorite dahlia!) has a delicious picotée around the blooms’ edges and a sweet fringed tip to each petal. Bloomquist Endlesession has a smoky-pink haze on its petals, with a more intense “flashback” and the same fringed petals. Plant heights and habits are very similar.
What other differences/similarities do you see in these two? ????
