Dahlia Comparison: Linda’s Baby and Jowey Winnie

The two beautiful dahlias we’re exploring today have some similarities, but also some clear differences. Let’s compare two of our top customer favorites: Linda’s Baby and Jowey Winnie.

Both of these sturdy ball form dahlias are considered pink by the American Dahlia Society, but Linda’s Baby tends to a more clear, glowing peachy-pink here at the farm, and Jowey Winnie is a more smoky raspberry-pink. They are similar in size, hanging out at about 3″, but some years Jowey Winnie edges slightly larger in size by the end of the season, holding its own against chillier, shorter days. Bother of these dahlias are great tuber producers, and similar heights, but Jowey Winnie tends to have a bulkier habit with tougher stems (a great Jowey-dahlia trait!) and is generally less fragile than Linda’s Baby.

What other differences/similarities do you see in these two, and which do you want to grow the most!? ????
