‘Tis the season for making and baking, and since the weather outside truly is frightful, the farm kids and I are busy creating treats inside by the fire.
The high flower season at our farm is the antithesis of these cozy, comfy days. Sometimes when my meal plan falls apart and I’m remotely assessing what’s (probably!) in the fridge so I can feed my crew when the blooms are all stashed in the cooler, my busy brain “mis-fires” and I mentally mix up flower recipe ingredients with actually palatable and edible ones. I’m so frequently creating flower recipes that the traditional ones can get left in the dust.
I’ve sometimes found myself wishing that I could crack open a tangible recipe box for tried-and-true bouquet combos. My sweet Mima’s biscuit recipe, scrawled on an index card, gives me confidence for savory baking adventures. If you need blossom arranging confidence, try this brilliant Flower Recipe mid-summer and bask in its glorious results.
