Just as in late winter, when I’m staring at mountains of dahlia tubers, it can be hard to believe the metamorphosis of twisted roots into lush leaves and blooms will actually happen, so in the uncertain days which mark the beginning of a crisis it can be hard to believe that it will be behind us one day. It may be very difficult in the interim, but it will not last forever.
I ask myself, “What will these deep waters do in me? Will I sink into fear and despair, or will I grow in love by serving my community and family?”
