Triple Wren Farms Novice Hybridizer Program

February 10, 2025

At Triple Wren, we love sharing beauty. In fact, the greatest joy we find in our work comes from connecting with our Legacy Program hybridizers and bringing their unavailable or obscure varieties to market so that more gardeners can enjoy growing the incredible diversity of beauty they’ve created.

In 2024, we expanded our commitment to dahlia hybridizers by introducing our first class of Novice Hybridizers—a group of growers who have been experimenting with dahlia breeding but haven’t yet introduced their own named varieties. By partnering with these hybridizers to introduce their dahlias to the world we can

  • grow out larger quantities of their new dahlia so that it can be offered widely,
  • offer them an existing marketplace to tell about their dahlias, and
  • offer an already established customer support team, shipping team, marketing team, etc. to support their dahlia sales.

Why does this mean so much to us?

Because innovation in the dahlia world doesn’t happen in isolation. Every beloved variety started as a single seedling in someone’s garden, nurtured by curiosity, patience, and an eye for beauty. By supporting hybridizers—both seasoned experts and new creators—we get to be part of that process. We get to help bring those first tiny sprouts of possibility into full bloom, and in turn, share them with gardeners who are eager to grow something extraordinary.

This work is at the heart of what we do. We don’t just grow flowers; we grow connections. And with every new hybrid, every seedling-turned-stunner, and every gardener who falls in love with a bloom they’ve never seen before, we’re reminded why we started this journey in the first place.
