We are so excited to introduce you to TWO new Salish dahlias— Salish Sweet Laila and Salish Glory Be. These dahlias are hybridized by the lovely Noni Morrison, who also hybridized Salish Twilight Girl and Salish Snow Day along with many other beauties–several of which you’ll be seeing in our online shop in future years! All four of these varieties are part of our Legacy Program and will be available for pre-sale in the U.S. later this month.
Salish Sweet Laila

Noni always has such lovely stories about her dahlia names and these new dahlias are no exception. Laila is Noni’s great-niece, and “Salish Sweet Laila” first bloomed in Noni’s garden about the time she was born. Sweet indeed! Salish Sweet Laila is a 4.5″ ruffled, glowing pink formal decorative-form dahlia with the most delightful feisty, twisty petal tips and a really lovely, open-yet-upright plant habit.
Salish Glory Be

Noni shared that the first year Salish Glory Be bloomed, every time she looked into the garden she had to say, “Well, Glory Be, who do we have here?” This dahlia also reminded her of a very dear cousin, Gloria, who would come over and help Noni in the garden on Vashon Island “just out of pure goodness and love.” Salish Glory Be is a 5″ fiery sunset all in one bloom: golden yellow fading-to-orange in a lovely, stellar-form dahlia. “Glory Be” is tall (60+ inches), with a beautiful petal position that relaxes back towards the stem, and really sturdy, strong stems (a hallmark of Salish dahlias.)
Triple Wren’s Legacy Hybridizer Program
At Triple Wren, we love sharing beauty. In fact, the greatest joy we find in our work comes from connecting with our Legacy Program hybridizers and bringing their new, unavailable, or obscure varieties to market so that more gardeners can enjoy growing the incredible diversity of beauty they’ve created.
This year we’re sharing more Legacy dahlias than ever! In our upcoming U.S. Dahlia Tuber Sale, over 60% of the dahlia varieties on offer are part of our Legacy Program. When you purchase a Legacy dahlia from Triple Wren Farms, a portion of that sale goes back to the original hybridizer every year, from every sale. We have worked hard to provide the hybridizers represented in our Legacy Collection with fair compensation for their craft, and have freed them up from the task of producing large, salable quantities of their varieties so that they can focus on creating the spectacular dahlias we all love and enjoy. Thank you for your support of our farm! We couldn’t do what we do without your support.
